Case IHFarmall 75A
Utility
74 hp engine · 64 PTO−14% to the shaft

The cheapest way into 64 PTO hp wearing a Case IH badge, on a 2.9-litre FPT three that avoids a particulate filter entirely. Sits directly beneath the Farmall 75C, which costs more and adds a power shuttle and a 3.4-litre four.

On the price: Neither this maker nor any dealer reachable from here publishes a bare-tractor price for this model — every listing found either says “call for price” or bundles a loader. That is how this brand sells, so expect to get a number by asking a dealer rather than by looking it up.

Lift figures are the maker's and are quoted at whichever point the maker chose; the about page explains why two loaders with the same number do not lift the same pallet.

What owners say

What they like

  • 64 PTO hp out of 74 engine hp puts it level with the Farmall 75C's driveline for considerably less money, which is the whole argument for the A series
  • 4,299 lb hitch standard, 4,740 lb optional - more than the 75C's own 3,664 lb rating at the same measuring point
  • No particulate filter: cooled EGR and a DOC only, with a 600-hour oil change interval
  • Available as non-cab as well as cab, unlike the Farmall 75C which is effectively a cab tractor
  • The 8x8 shuttle can be swapped for a 12x12 power shuttle or a 12x12 with creeper at order time

What they complain about

  • Case IH publishes no price, and the dealer pages that quote one (56,600 dollars at one Tennessee dealer) include the loader and rear weights, so none of it is usable
  • 12.6 gpm of hydraulic flow behind 74 hp is genuinely low - a Workmaster 75 moves 16 gpm and a 5075E more still
  • The L610 loader tops out at 1,828 lb non-self-levelling to max height, which is not much for a 74 hp tractor
  • Case IH's own page says 74 hp / 64 PTO where the brochure says 74 / 60, so the PTO figure depends which document you read
  • No cruise control, and the mechanical shuttle uses a dry clutch that will wear if the loader work is relentless
  • 2WD is the base axle; the MFD build this entry describes is an option

FPT's 3.4-litre four with internal cooled EGR and no regeneration, dropped into Case IH's small utility frame. The 12x12 power shuttle and 3,664 lb hitch aim it at a Deere 5075E and at New Holland's Workmaster 75, which shares its CNH driveline in a different colour.

A genuinely different machine from the 55A above it, and the cheapest Case IH small utility: a 2.2-litre FPT three rather than the 2.9, a Cat II hitch rated 2,701 lb rather than 4,299, and a 4,442 lb bare frame. Case IH publishes no price on it, so the figure comes from a dealer quote.

Middle rung of the light small-utility trio, and the one that earns its keep on PTO work: 51 PTO hp out of 60 engine hp is an 85 percent driveline efficiency, better than most compacts manage. Same 2.2-litre FPT, same 2,701 lb hitch and 13-gallon tank as the 50A below it.
