A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
Mahindra 1123
What they like
- 16.8 PTO hp for $16,330 is a 21 percent PTO gain over the 1120 for a 15 percent price step, the best value point in the series
- No DPF and no regeneration cycle, which Mahindra states outright rather than implying
- Seven-year, 3,000-hour limited powertrain coverage carries over from the cheaper 1120
- Identical L11 loader, frame, hydraulics and steering as the 1120 and 1126, so only the engine changes across the series and parts stay common
- 7.6 GPM of implement flow out of 11.2 GPM total keeps a loader and a rear remote workable at the same time
What they complain about
- HST only - no gear or shuttle box exists for this series at any price
- 771 lb of 3-point lift at 24 inches aft is unchanged from the 20 hp 1120, so the extra engine power does not buy extra rear capacity
- Getting Mahindra parts and service depends on a US network far thinner than Kubota's, which is the real cost of the lower sticker
- Mahindra's own pages disagree on this model's output - the series card says 22.8 hp where the spec table and brochure say 22.9
- The cab option is heat-only, and at $23,289 it nearly doubles the open-station price
Mahindra 1126
What they like
- Crosses 25 hp with no DPF and no regeneration cycle, which is the horsepower band where most rivals pick up aftertreatment
- 19.2 PTO hp handles a 60-inch mower deck or a five-foot rotary cutter that the 1120 would labour under
- Seven-year, 3,000-hour limited powertrain warranty, the longest term of any brand in this catalog
- Same 1,620 lb frame and L11 loader as the 20 hp 1120, so the whole series shares parts and implements
- 11.2 GPM total flow with 7.6 GPM to implements beats what several 25 hp sub-compacts route to the rear
- Hydrostatic steering with tilt and telescoping column, plus a cab option, on a machine under $19,000
- This is the one model in the series Mahindra actually photographs, so what you see in the configurator is the tractor you are buying
What they complain about
- $18,364 puts it within a few thousand of far better-supported 25 hp compacts from Kubota and Deere, and the dealer gap is the trade
- 3-point lift stays at 771 lb at 24 inches aft across the whole series, so the extra 5 hp over the 1120 buys nothing at the hitch
- HST only - the 1100 has no gear or shuttle variant
- The heated cab has no air conditioning, a real limit on a machine that will be mowing in July
- Mahindra publishes no Tier level for the engine, only the no-DPF claim
- 6.6 gallons of fuel on the series' thirstiest engine means the most frequent refuelling of the three
