A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
Kioti CS2210
What they like
- At $13,983 it undercuts every Kubota BX and John Deere 1 Series entry in this catalog and still arrives 4WD with two-range hydrostatic drive
- Kioti's 72-month powertrain term runs with no hour cap, where most rivals in this class stop the clock at 2,000 hours
- Under 25 hp, so Tier 4 Final compliance comes without a diesel particulate filter and there is no regeneration cycle to sit out
- 1,485 lb bare weight is light enough to trailer behind a half-ton and gentle on established turf
- The 24-month bumper-to-bumper term covers parts and labor with no deductible, unusual at the bottom of a price list
What they complain about
- 675 lb of loader lift at the pivot pin is the smallest figure in the CS line; the CS2220 nearly doubles it for about $1,950 more
- 6.5 gpm is the lowest total pump flow in the series, and the steering circuit draws from it before any implement does
- 700 lb at the 3-point limits you to light rear implements, and Kioti does not publish where that figure was measured
- No cab at this hp point - the CS2530 is the first CS model offered with one
- Kioti's US owner base is a fraction of Kubota's, so an unusual fault has far less shared troubleshooting written down anywhere
Kioti CS2220
What they like
- 1,062 lb at the pivot pin is more loader than most 21 hp machines carry, and it beats Kioti's own heavier CS2230 by nearly 200 lb
- 73.7 in of loader lift height clears the side of a pickup bed
- 7.0 gpm total flow, up from the CS2210's 6.5, for no change in engine or emissions class
- 72-month powertrain coverage with no hour limit, plus 24 months bumper-to-bumper including labor and no deductible
- Tier 4 Final without a DPF because it stays under 25 hp
- 1,554 lb still trailers behind a half-ton and will not rut a lawn
What they complain about
- 21 hp has to move that 1,062 lb loader, so a full bucket of wet material will bog the engine long before it overloads the arms
- 700 lb at the 3-point is identical to the cheapest CS - the rear end did not grow with the front
- No cab offered at this hp point
- At $15,939 it lands within about $500 of the CS2230, which trades away loader capacity for a larger 1,233 cc engine at the same 21 hp
