A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
TYM T5074
What they like
- A true power shuttle with an adjustable shuttle sensitivity setting, standard on a ROPS tractor at this price point
- 3,319 cc from Yanmar, the largest displacement in the TYM range and 400 cc more than the Deutz-engined Series 5 tractors
- Four loader and four rear remote valves standard, plus a front six-port hydraulic valve
- 4,329 lb of Category II hitch lift at the link ends, with a telescopic lower link and both position and draft control
- TYM Telematics is standard, and so is a two-button loader joystick with a four-port loader valve
- 19 gal of fuel, the largest tank on any ROPS tractor in the TYM line
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- TYM publishes no front-end loader for the T5074 - its brochure names none and no loader page on TYM's site lists this tractor, so neither the loader model nor its lift capacity can be stated, even though the brochure photograph shows the tractor wearing one
- 13.5 mph flat out, barely half the 23 mph the cabbed T5068 manages, so road moves take twice as long
- 60.2 PTO hp from 71.5 gross is an 84 percent driveline figure, well behind the 92 percent the Deutz-engined T5068 achieves at lower power
- Over 70 engine horsepower, so TYM's powertrain cover drops from 72 months / 3,000 hours to 60 months / 2,000 hours
- 10.3 gpm of implement flow at 71.5 hp, the same pump as the 68 hp T5068
- ROPS only - no cab is offered on this model at all
TYM T5075
What they like
- 5,115 lb of Category II hitch lift at the link ends, the heaviest in the TYM range and enough for a mid-size baler or a mounted mower conditioner
- 67.1 PTO hp from 74.3 gross, a 90 percent driveline figure that the Yanmar-engined T5074 cannot match at similar power
- Deutz TCD 2.9, serviceable through Deutz's own network rather than only through TYM dealers
- Cab standard with an upgraded loader valve and a redesigned steel hood
- 23.7 gal of fuel and 22.7 mph on the road
- F16 x R16 with a creeper interlock, and a power shuttle offered alongside the synchro shuttle
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- 10.3 gpm of implement flow on a 6,316 lb tractor with a 5,115 lb hitch - the hydraulics have not grown with the machine
- Over 70 engine horsepower, so TYM's powertrain cover falls to 60 months / 2,000 hours rather than the 72 months / 3,000 hours the smaller models get
- TYM still lists the T754 beside it with the same Deutz engine, the same 5,115 lb hitch and the same 23.8 gal tank, so the two names describe one machine
- Cab-only, with no ROPS build to lower the entry price
- The L5075SL loader's 3,325 lb is published only in kilograms-force, and only on the loader's own page
- Hitch lift falls to 3,418 lb measured 24 in. behind the link ends, a third of the headline figure gone
