A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
TYM T574
What they like
- 3,822 lb of hitch lift, the most of any Category I tractor in this catalog, with 3,050 lb still available 24 in. behind the link ends
- Telescopic lower links and stabilizers standard, so mounted implements pin up without a second pair of hands
- 44.7 PTO hp from 55 gross, an 81 percent driveline figure
- The TX57 loader lifts 2,791 lb at the pivot point, 313 lb more than the TX55 on the T554
- Two standard rear remotes, cruise control and 15.9 gal of fuel
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- 7.7 gpm of implement flow at 55 hp - the same pump the 30 hp 3015 uses, and the weakest part of this tractor by a wide margin
- F8 x R8 shuttle, half the ratios of the T554 that sits beside it at the same power
- Category I hitch rated 3,822 lb, which is more lift than the linkage class was designed around
- Turbocharged, unlike most of the naturally aspirated TYM range
- No cab is offered on the T574 where the T554 has one
- No hydrostatic build at all in this part of the range
TYM T5068
What they like
- 62.7 PTO hp out of 68 gross is a 92 percent driveline figure - the highest in this catalog, and it is what lets a 68 hp tractor pull a baler
- Deutz TCD 2.9 rather than a captive engine, with a parts and service network of its own independent of the tractor brand
- Cab is standard equipment, not an option - the spec table shows no ROPS weight at all
- 24 forward speeds, with a synchro shuttle standard and a power shuttle available
- Six standard remote valves on the floating and regeneration build, four on the spring and floating build
- Category II hitch rated 4,270 lb at the link ends and 3,153 lb 24 in. behind them
- 540 and 750 rpm PTO speeds, and 23 mph on the road
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- 10.3 gpm of implement flow at 68 hp is thin - the 48 hp 4820 delivers 11.4 gpm
- Cab-only means no cheaper ROPS build exists to bring the entry price down
- TYM still sells the T654 alongside it, with nearly identical figures under a different name, which makes the lineup confusing to shop
- 5,556 lb with the cab, heavy enough to mark soft ground
- TYM publishes the L5068SL loader's lift only in kilograms-force on the loader page - 1,416 kgf, which is 3,122 lb
