Case IHFarmall 65A
Utility
65 hp engine · 56 PTO−14% to the shaft

The volume seller of the heavy small-utility A chassis: 56 PTO hp, a 4,299 lb hitch and 21.7 gallons of fuel, aimed squarely at a Deere 5065E and priced - or rather quoted - against it. Low-profile and poultry-house configurations are built on this same frame.

On the price: Neither this maker nor any dealer reachable from here publishes a bare-tractor price for this model — every listing found either says “call for price” or bundles a loader. That is how this brand sells, so expect to get a number by asking a dealer rather than by looking it up.

Lift figures are the maker's and are quoted at whichever point the maker chose; the about page explains why two loaders with the same number do not lift the same pallet.

From owner discussion and long-term write-ups

What owners say

What they like

  • 56 PTO hp handles a small round baler, a 9-foot cutter or a mixer wagon without the engine hunting
  • The 4,299 lb standard hitch (4,740 lb optional) is the single biggest reason to pick this over the lighter 60A
  • No diesel particulate filter - cooled EGR and a DOC do the emissions work, so bedding and feeding runs never trigger a regen
  • Low-profile and poultry configurations are catalogued on this chassis, which very few tractors in the class offer from the factory
  • Optional 12x12 power shuttle, and a 12x12 with creeper for anything that needs to crawl
  • Two rear remotes are standard with a third available, so a grapple or a bale spear does not use up the loader circuit

What they complain about

  • Price is unpublished from every angle - no Case IH figure, no Case IH document on the public contract sites, and dealer listings that bundle a loader
  • The L610 loader's 1,828 lb non-self-levelling rating to max height is modest for a 6,283 lb tractor
  • Fixed-displacement 12.6 gpm hydraulics trail the 16 gpm that a Deere 5065E or a Kubota M5 offers, so a grapple cycles slowly
  • 2WD standard, MFD optional, cab optional - the tractor in the brochure photographs is several options above the base build
  • Case IH's page now says 65 hp / 56 PTO where the brochure says 64 / 51, so published figures for this model disagree with each other

FPT's 3.4-litre four with internal cooled EGR and no regeneration, dropped into Case IH's small utility frame. The 12x12 power shuttle and 3,664 lb hitch aim it at a Deere 5075E and at New Holland's Workmaster 75, which shares its CNH driveline in a different colour.

A genuinely different machine from the 55A above it, and the cheapest Case IH small utility: a 2.2-litre FPT three rather than the 2.9, a Cat II hitch rated 2,701 lb rather than 4,299, and a 4,442 lb bare frame. Case IH publishes no price on it, so the figure comes from a dealer quote.

Middle rung of the light small-utility trio, and the one that earns its keep on PTO work: 51 PTO hp out of 60 engine hp is an 85 percent driveline efficiency, better than most compacts manage. Same 2.2-litre FPT, same 2,701 lb hitch and 13-gallon tank as the 50A below it.
