On the price: The maker's own published starting figure for the base build. A dealer adds a loader, a deck and freight on top.

Lift figures are the maker's and are quoted at whichever point the maker chose; the about page explains why two loaders with the same number do not lift the same pallet.

What owners say

What they like

  • 2,427 lb at the pivot pin from the LA1056, a 41 percent jump over every cheaper model in the range
  • Mechanical self-levelling LM1056 is offered as an alternative and lifts 2,471 lb
  • 39.8 PTO hp and 2,756 lb of hitch lift cover a seven-foot cutter and most tillage a compact will pull
  • Identical 4,266 lb ROPS weight to the L4470, so the bigger loader does not come with a heavier machine to park
  • Premium trim throughout - jog dial, loader joystick, dual RPM memory and optional remote start

What they complain about

  • $46,253 is $6,858 above the L4470 for 5.8 hp and a bigger loader, which is a steep step
  • Costs more than a 63.4 hp MX6000 and nearly as much as a 66.4 hp M6060, both with 2,310 and 3,307 lb hitches
  • Still Category I hitch only; the L6070 above it gets Category I and II
  • Fuel tank capacity is not published anywhere in Kubota's Grand L70 material

Same 72.1 hp V3307 as the M4-071 in a plainer, lighter and $16,943 cheaper package. The 12-speed HD12 build adds a limited-slip front differential, electro-hydraulic 4WD and a 16.2 gpm pump for the price of 2 PTO hp.

Middle of the M60 range and the point where the series stops being a stripped machine: the 203 cu in V3307 replaces the M5660's 148.5 cu in V2403, and a factory cab, tilt steering and an electronic panel all become available.

Hydrostatic only - Kubota offers no gear box on the biggest MX. The 63.4 hp tune of the V2403-CR-T sends 51.8 hp to the PTO, ten more than the MX4900, on a chassis that weighs just 18 lb more.
