A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
Kioti CX2510
What they like
- 11.3 gpm of total pump flow is close to double the CS line's 6.5-7.0, and that difference is felt directly in loader cycle time
- 1,203 lb at the 3-point is 500 lb more than any CS model, which is the difference between a light box blade and a real rotary cutter
- The KL2510 loader lifts 1,092 lb at the pivot pin and reaches 87.8 in, a full 14 in higher than the CS2220's loader
- Gear, hydrostatic and cab versions all sit on this one chassis, so the frame is not the part you outgrow
- 2,308 lb of tractor under 25 hp gives the loader the ballast it needs without adding wheel weights
- 72-month unlimited-hour powertrain term, the same coverage Kioti puts behind its compacts
What they complain about
- $17,827 is the gear price; the hydrostatic most buyers actually want is $19,524 and the cab $30,084
- 24.5 hp has to move 2,308 lb, so it is the heaviest machine per horsepower in Kioti's sub-compact range
- 6.6 gal of fuel on a tractor this heavy means short stints between fills
- Kioti never states where the 1,203 lb hitch figure was measured, so it cannot be set against a maker that quotes lift at the ball ends
- One model at one hp point - there is no larger CX to step up to without leaving the series
John Deere 1M 25
What they like
- A factory-installed HVAC cab can be ordered, which the 1025R it replaces never offered at any price
- Cruise control is standard, so the Twin Touch pedals do not have to be held down through a long mow
- The 120R Quik-Park loader mounts without tools and lifts 803 lb at the pivot pin
- At 1,556 lb bare it still trailers behind a half-ton pickup on a modest trailer
- Three rear selective control valves on the base machine - one more than the larger 1R 25 gets
- Six years or 2,000 hours of powertrain coverage
What they complain about
- 758 lb at the hitch is unchanged from the 1E 23 below it, so the extra horsepower buys no extra lift
- 6.3 gpm of pump output is modest once a cab and a loader are both drawing on it
- Ordering the cab takes shipping weight to 2,019 lb, which changes the trailer and tow vehicle the machine needs
- Deere's own sheet rates it 24 hp by SAE J1995 while the published gross figure is 23.2 hp - a small gap, but the two numbers are not interchangeable
- Deere publishes no starting price, and only a handful of dealers quote a bare base-machine figure at all
