Sub-Compact
24 hp engine · 21 PTO−13% to the shaft

The one sub-compact in TYM's range with a geared base build - a 6-speed constant-mesh box with only two reverse ratios - and that gearbox is why it makes 21 PTO hp where the hydrostatic 2400H makes 18. Three horsepower is a lot at 24 gross.

On the price: Neither this maker nor any dealer reachable from here publishes a bare-tractor price for this model — every listing found either says “call for price” or bundles a loader. That is how this brand sells, so expect to get a number by asking a dealer rather than by looking it up.

Lift figures are the maker's and are quoted at whichever point the maker chose; the about page explains why two loaders with the same number do not lift the same pallet.

From owner discussion and long-term write-ups

What owners say

What they like

  • 21 PTO hp out of 24 gross on the constant-mesh build, an 88 percent driveline figure that the hydrostatic version cannot approach
  • 540 and 1,000 rpm rear PTO speeds, which is unusual on a sub-compact and useful for implements built for the faster shaft
  • Dual gear pump with 4.7 gpm to the implement circuit, the highest implement flow in TYM's sub-compact range
  • Two optional remote valves rather than one
  • Cruise control is offered on the HST build for anyone who wants the hydrostat instead
  • 72-month, 3,000-hour powertrain cover for non-commercial use

What they complain about

  • TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
  • Six forward gears and only two reverse, so loader work means hunting for a usable reverse ratio - this is a gearbox for mowing, not for shuttling
  • Choosing the 2400H hydrostatic costs 3 PTO hp, taking 21 down to 18
  • 6.0 gal is the smallest fuel tank in the TYM line
  • The BL100S loader lifts 1,314 lb at the pivot point, below what the T264 beside it manages
  • Hitch lift drops from 1,499 lb at the link ends to 974 lb at 24 in. behind them

Smallest tractor TYM sells in North America and the only one under a litre: a 993 cc Yanmar three spinning to 3,200 rpm in a 1,472 lb frame. It undercuts a Kubota BX on weight by 200 lb, which is the point of it and also its limit.

TYM's own T1100N2 engine instead of a Yanmar, tuned to make its 24 hp at only 2,800 rpm, in a frame 400 lb heavier than the T224. The extra mass is what buys the 1,534 lb hitch, the biggest in TYM's sub-compact range.

Same engine, hitch and pumps as the 2400 on a wheelbase stretched 6.6 in. and a 3-range hydrostat geared for 17 mph - the fastest sub-compact TYM builds. It is the long-legged version of the same machine rather than a more capable one.
