A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
TYM T264
What they like
- 1,534 lb of hitch lift at the link ends is the most in TYM's sub-compact line and more than a Kubota BX or a Deere 1025R will manage
- Cruise control as standard on a sub-compact, which matters on a long mow
- 24 hp at 2,800 rpm rather than 3,000-3,200, so it is doing less work per horsepower and running quieter
- Dual gear pump splits 4.4 gpm to the implement circuit and 2.7 gpm to steering, so a loader cycle does not drag on the wheel
- Infinite 2-range HST reaching 12.9 mph, half as fast again as the T224
- Powertrain cover of 72 months or 3,000 hours for non-commercial use
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- Only one remote valve, and it is optional
- 4.4 gpm of implement flow is modest for a tractor asked to run a loader and a mid-mount deck
- The TX2000 loader lifts 1,380 lb at the pivot point, which TYM publishes in kilograms-force on the loader page and not at all on the tractor page
- 1,881 lb is heavy for a sub-compact if the job is crossing a soft lawn
- The hitch lift falls to 1,102 lb measured 24 in. behind the link ends, so a long implement loses nearly a third of the figure
TYM 2400
What they like
- 21 PTO hp out of 24 gross on the constant-mesh build, an 88 percent driveline figure that the hydrostatic version cannot approach
- 540 and 1,000 rpm rear PTO speeds, which is unusual on a sub-compact and useful for implements built for the faster shaft
- Dual gear pump with 4.7 gpm to the implement circuit, the highest implement flow in TYM's sub-compact range
- Two optional remote valves rather than one
- Cruise control is offered on the HST build for anyone who wants the hydrostat instead
- 72-month, 3,000-hour powertrain cover for non-commercial use
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- Six forward gears and only two reverse, so loader work means hunting for a usable reverse ratio - this is a gearbox for mowing, not for shuttling
- Choosing the 2400H hydrostatic costs 3 PTO hp, taking 21 down to 18
- 6.0 gal is the smallest fuel tank in the TYM line
- The BL100S loader lifts 1,314 lb at the pivot point, below what the T264 beside it manages
- Hitch lift drops from 1,499 lb at the link ends to 974 lb at 24 in. behind them
