A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
TYM 3620
What they like
- 3,754 lb of tractor behind a 35 hp engine gives it the traction and stability of machines a class above
- The BL200 loader lifts 2,701 lb at the pivot pin, more than most 50 hp compacts manage
- 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds on the synchromesh build, or a 4-range hydrostatic, both with a 540/750 two-speed independent PTO
- 15.5 in of ground clearance and an 11.8-gallon tank make it a genuine all-day field tractor rather than a yard machine
- Cat I hitch rated 3,306 lb at the link ends
What they complain about
- 28 PTO hp is only 80 percent of gross and is the lowest PTO figure in the series 4 range - it is the chassis you are buying, not the engine
- TYM publishes no price and no dealer publishes a bare-tractor figure for it
- Implement flow is 7.7 gpm, well under the 11.4 gpm the lighter series 3 machines push, so the big loader cycles slowly
- The brochure's hitch row prints 1,500 lb alongside 3,306 kg - the units are transposed, and it is the 3,306 lb / 1,500 kg pair that is right
- No warranty statement on the model page or in the brochure
TYM 5520
What they like
- Turbocharging the 2,286 cc four to 55 hp keeps the machine narrow and light while giving it genuine 44 PTO hp
- 16 forward and 16 reverse synchromesh speeds, or a 4-range hydrostatic, with a 540/750 two-speed independent PTO either way
- 11.4 gpm to the implement circuit and 16.5 gpm total, so the BL200 loader's 2,701 lb capacity is usable rather than nominal
- A heated 5520C cab is catalogued on this chassis
- 15.5 in of ground clearance on a 71.1 in wheelbase gives it good field manners for a compact
What they complain about
- No published price at all: TYM states none and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor
- The 3,306 lb Cat I hitch is the same as the 35 hp 3620's, so the extra 20 horsepower adds nothing at the back
- 11.8 gallons of fuel behind a turbocharged 55 hp engine is a short day
- TYM does not state the warranty for this model anywhere in its own material
- A turbo adds a maintenance item the naturally aspirated 4815 beside it does not have
