A highlighted cell wins its row on the rule named above the table: more power, lift, capacity or flow, or a lower price. A lift row is left unwon whenever the two makers measured in different places, or where either of them did not say — a figure quoted at the pivot pin and one quoted 500 mm ahead of it describe the same loader and differ by roughly a third, so ranking them against each other would invent a result. Prices are typical list and move with dealer packages.
From owner discussion and long-term write-ups
What owners of each one say
TYM T3035
What they like
- 30 PTO hp from 35 gross, at only 2,100 rated rpm - the same PTO figure as the 3515 from an engine turning 500 fewer revs
- 3,307 lb of hitch lift with cruise control and four standard loader valves
- 8.7 gal of fuel, 1.6 gal more than the older 3515 on the same frame size
- Choice of a 12 x 12 synchromesh shuttle or a 3-range hydrostat
- Naturally aspirated, with no turbo and no particulate filter
- 72-month, 3,000-hour powertrain cover for non-commercial use
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- Zero rear remote valves standard, despite four being fitted to the loader circuit
- Identical 2,970 lb weight and 65.7 in. wheelbase to the 24 hp T3025, so the frame is not braced for the extra power
- Hitch lift drops to 2,425 lb at 24 in. behind the link ends
- TYM's page lists the displacement as 1,744 cc where every other T1700-series entry says 1,714 cc - a one-digit inconsistency on the maker's own table
- The L3035 loader's 2,200 lb at the pivot point is the same figure the 24 hp T3025 gets
TYM T394
What they like
- Common-rail Yanmar 3TNV88-CR rather than the indirect-injection and mechanical engines elsewhere in the class - quieter, cleaner and better on fuel
- Dual-filter air cleaner and cast-iron component connections, both called out by the maker as durability items
- 30.2 PTO hp from 37.4 gross, and cruise control as standard
- 9.0 gal of fuel, the largest tank in TYM's Series 3
- The TX39H loader lifts 2,116 lb at the pivot point on a 3,020 lb tractor
What they complain about
- TYM publishes no price - every model page ends at Request a Quote, and no two independent dealers quote a bare tractor, so the figure here would have to be invented
- 2,639 lb of hitch lift, 667 lb less than the 30 hp 3015 on the same shelf - this is the price of the Yanmar engine
- 6.1 gpm of implement flow is the lowest of any TYM compact, and it is what you feel on a grapple
- 12 x 12 mechanical shuttle only, with no hydrostatic option offered
- Hitch lift falls to 1,558 lb measured 24 in. behind the link ends
- Remote valves are optional (one or two), so nothing rear-mounted is plumbed as standard
- 3,000 rated rpm, several hundred higher than the T3035's 2,100, which is more engine noise for less hitch
